Gyeongsanbuk-do Forest Science Museum was established for the purpose of contributing to the promotion of forest culture and serving citizens as a place for learning forest culture through preserving historical materials and data of forests permanently and conducting academic researches and studies. Furthermore, it will help the development to tourist attractions of its adjoining area with Confucian cultural heritage, and will provide a place for relaxation while enjoying forest culture. The Twenty-First century is the period of time during which we shall make our country culturally wealthy, where the axes of the nature, the environment and the green meet together. So we will take part in tending, caring and preserving such resources of life, and perform our commitment of providing the place for forest culture to create a successful history of utilization of resources witnessing the achievements of scientific development and wise application.

① Specialization : It functions as a specialized museum providing professional expertise and recommending schemes for scientific management, preservation, development and utilization.

It provides a place for education and learning through field experience, serving as a media for delivering extensive knowledge and information about how and what benefits are given to us by forests through scientific preservation and utilization of the nature and forests.

Established as a place for forest culture focusing on advancement of natural science a step further and connecting the adjoining tourist attractions such as historic sites and traditional culture in the locality, the museum emerges as another attraction in the locality as it is utilized as a complex for experiencing field study and a variety of cultural events at the same time.

In the vicinity of the museum, outdoor facilities divided by themes into hydroponics zone, landscaping zone, wooded zone, clean zone, ecological zone, botanical communities, traditional culture practice zone (mountain village culture), ornithological facility and greenhouse zone serve as a leisure complex for relaxation, leisure, picnic, events, and recreations.
